Congratulations to our brilliant co-founder and CEO, Philippa Roberts, for being shortlisted in techSPARK #TheSPARKies2025.

Philippa is a Chartered Waste Manager with 20+ years’ experience in the waste industry. She is a visionary. She co-founded Binit in 2016. In its first iteration Binit was an app for geo-tagging litter. It proved difficult to get enough data to make this valuable, but by logging lots of litter she discovered that the bulk of it in Exeter comes from trade waste bags left on the street. These bags get ripped open, and the resulting rubbish not only costs us as UK taxpayers a staggering £1 billion a year, but also much ends up in the oceans. We believe there is a better way; Binit better!

Binit is now the waste management platform that helps you improve your collections, measure your carbon and stay compliant. Learn more about our evolving business here.
